"Fast" Eddie Castro

"Fast" Eddie Castro leaped into the lead to take his third main event win of the season at Wild West Speedway in Winchester, CA.

Chris Manchester, who was the dominant force all night with a perfect score, lined up on the pole. Justin Boyle lined up in gate two. Next to Boyle was Buck Blair in gate three. Castro drew gate four and Bobby Krips gate five.

With a malfunction of the starting gates the race was started with a green light. When the green light came on, it was Castro who leaped into the lead and never looked back. Manchester put up a valiant charge but was unsuccessful as Castro took the checkered flag and his third win of the season. Manchester settled in for second, Krips took third, Boyle was fourth, and Blair, after a brief meeting with the wall, took fifth.

Round one started with Krips beating Shaun Harmatiuk. In race two Manchester beat Castro. Blair finished round one with a win over Denny Scopellitte.

Opening round two was Manchester taking a win over Harmatiuk. Castro won race 11 by beating 17 year old Boyle. Krips ended round two with a win over the exciting Blair.

In the third round Manchester beat Blair. Boyle took the win over Steve Murray and the final race of the round was won by Scopellite beating Harmatiuk.

Boyle won the last chance to guarantee his spot into the main event.

The Second Division Main was won by 15 yea old Tim Gomez making it his fifth consecutive main event win of the season. Gomez, gated the field and entered turn one followed close by Rich Brock. After a couple of laps of charging hard, Brock settled in for second followed by Eloy Meddellin in third, Rohn Zellner was fourth and Rusty Hall finished fifth.

Tom Hamilton took the Division Three honors with a great battle going on in that race. Mike Boyle held on to second followed by Steve Dziadus Jr in third, and Kim Stevens was fourth. Rounding out the field in fifth was Steve Dziadus, Sr.

Ricky Valdez won the Youth division. All the riders fell but it was Valdez who was fast on his feet and quickly took the checkered flag for the win.

Braden Galvin won another main event win in the Peewee Division chased by Rocco Scopellitte. Rounding out the Pee Wee division was Blaise Murray, Bryan Rutherford, Samuel Ramirez, Zack Delacruz and Jennifer Facchini.
