2013 Speedway National Championship Qualifiers

National Championship Qualifiers return to Speedway this season with a four events series. International Speedway, Industry Racing, Pirate and Big Time all have confirmed dates on their 2013 calendar for these important races. When concluded the top fourteen Qualifier point leaders will transfer to compete in the 45th Annual United States National Championships at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds on October 5th.

Round 1 - Costa Mesa Speedway - Saturday June 8th
Round 2 - Big Time Speedway - Saturday July 6
Round 3 - Industry Racing - Saturday August 3rd
Round 4 - Pirate Speedway - Friday August 9th

Costa Mesa promoter Brad Oxley was ecstatic. "A race series featuring Americas top tracks and riders is how they did it when I rode Speedway" the former 2-time National Champion relayed. International Speedway is really excited about these Qualifiers and working with it's fellow promoters.

Pirate Speedway was just as thrilled "I've competed in many of these National Championship Qualifiers over the years and fully support them as a path to the US National" said Pirate promoter Shawn McConnell. It's the best riders slugging it out. Count on the Pirate to support this series and all it's promoters.

"Big Time Speedway is delighted with it's Qualifier round" promoter Steve Stasiefski relayed. "The best riders in the US and I get to race them the week of the Hangtown Motocross Classic. It's going to be outstanding as will working with the other Qualifier series tracks."

Industry Racing committed by added a Saturday to their "Luck 13" race schedule. "It's an important race and series" explained Industry Hills Expo Center Operational Manger Carol Perez. "Running it on Saturday rather then our normal Wednesday here at the Grand Arena will allow Northern and out of state riders along with spectators a better race experience." Industry Racing enthusiastically embraces these National Qualifiers and it's Speedway promoter counterparts.

The National Championship Qualifiers "When" and "Where" are now set in stone. The "How, Who and How Much" press releases will be coming soon.

Important Rider Information

America's premier Speedway Motorcycle racing venues are proud to announce the co-promotion of the National Championship Qualifier series. In a renewed spirit of cooperation, the 4 rounds of Qualifiers are intended to provide competitors with a path to earn a coveted place in the Monster Energy 45th United States National Speedway Championship to be held at Costa Mesa Speedway, October 5th, 2013.

Although the rounds share a common program format, points, purse structure and a vision for the sports future, each round is owned and produced by the individual track promoters that are not attached to any particular sanctioning organization. The goal is to unite the sport, attract Sponsorship, co-promote and produce excellent events for competitors and fans. Dates are as follows:

Saturday June 8 - Costa Mesa Speedway OC Fair & Expo Costa Mesa, CA.
Saturday July 6 - Big Time Speedway Prairie City OHV Rancho Cordova, CA.
Saturday August 3 - Industry Racing Industry Hills Expo Center Industry, CA.
Friday August 9 - Pirate Speedway National Orange Show San Bernardino, CA.

Each of the 4 rounds will pay a $3000.00 purse and equal qualifying points, sending the top 14 riders to the $22,000.00+ National Championship!

In addition, a separate qualifying event will be held at Champion Speedway on Saturday July 20. The 2 top East Coast Speedway riders from that event will be seeded directly to the National Championship. Remaining spots will be filled by the current National Champion, past Champions and/or top Overseas based Americans.

Riders who do sign up for a round and no-show will be penalized 10 series points.

It's always embarrassing when a rider is inadvertently left off the program. In most cases it's just a oversight and your email saying "hey what am I chopped liver" will be enough to rectify the situation. Any and all qualified competitors who wishes to be added please let us know. Your inquiry or comment will receive immediate attention.

Riders please. An open forum is not the best way to take care of business. I encourage you to contact Brad Oxley at cmspeedway@sbcglobal.net or myself at howie@razvideo.com.

Please note. First time email contact often goes into a spam folder so please be sure to put 2013 National Championship Qualifiers in the subject line. Unless we have been kidnapped by aliens phone and email messages are answered within 24 hours.

Thanks Howie (March 28, 2013)
