Playing the moving the streamliner game.

While Mike Akatiff designed a pretty cool method of getting the streamliner from point A to B, when your are not helping it is tough to wait...

Bonneville Salt Flats

Ya ya, I only took this photo because of the Mythbusters bag. (More of the Discovery Channel crew.)

Bonneville Salt Flats

My second favorite photo. Engine is running, earth is shaking, crew almost in cab. Rocky thinking... RC get the hell out of the way...

The annoying thing was, I could not see Rocky inside because of the tint. Oh well... Soon as I shot a couple of these it was run to the truck and chase, chase, chase... Great fun.

(Later I showed Rocky this photo and asked if he saw me, he says "oh hell no..." Well that was reassuring. I did have time to run to the chase truck for a thrilling ride down the salt with his brother Buddy.)

Bonneville Salt Flats

After the run and at the 12 mile mark. Rocky chats with brother Buddy.

Riding with Buddy in the chase truck was an event into itself. Thank you Paul and Buzzy for letting me have the window.

Bonneville Salt Flats Turn around action at mile 12. The crew has 2 hours before the return run if on record pace. The cars only get 1 hour.
Bonneville Salt Flats Yes it really is Mile 12... lol
Bonneville Salt Flats Strapping in for the return run. No record in sight yet but another pass over the 300mph mark.
Bonneville Salt Flats

Engine running and ready to go...

Love that sound, feeling and excitement.

Bonneville Salt Flats Nothing like having your mother sew up your suit after the run.
Bonneville Salt Flats Daughter Kristin gives a smile...

Top 1 Oil owner Joe takes a break for lunch and a chat.

A great guy and a wonderful sponsor, wish we had more like him.

Bonneville Salt Flats After lunch the Nish machine went for a run.
Bonneville Salt Flats Driving in a huge circle to get turned around to start still need folks to assist by pushing him backwards to get to the center of the track.
