Great track, fast program. Started at 6 PM and finished at 8 PM. The track was not great for passing, the inside line being the fastest, but with such a close level of skill in the riders, it was never sure who would win each heat. The first lap always saw the lead change two or three times between the start and turn three! A good crowd of 400, due to the Paris Fair, got a good evening's entertainment.

The only injury of the night was Jeff Orosz in heat 14. He was going around Chris Hesmer on the outside in turn three, but Chris also liked the outside on that corner, and they both picked the same point to start the turn. Jeff only tore off Chris's right number plate, but it was enough to mess up Jeff's line through the corner, and he lost some distance on Chris. He charged hard the second lap, and overcooked it when going into turn three again, and layed it down. Patrick Ahlund followed by Gary Hesmer layed it down to avoid Jeff, and Jeff's ankle got a little twisted in the tumbling bikes. He had a cast on it and was on crutches for the following six weeks. We were all glad to see Phil Pedersen back for the first time this year, but his freshly rebuilt GM siezed again in heat 20.
