This was Welland's second event of the season, and was the last night the riders had to prepare for the two National Championships to be
held here in the next two weeks. Two fast new riders with laydown bikes ( Biff Waczynski and a rider from Slovenia,
Tomaz Drnac #7 ) appeared, adding to the uncertainty of the final event. John Kehoe, the winner from last week had a fall in practice, his heat
results were marginal, and had to qualify for the final in a run-off race. Biff was involved in an incident with Andy after the first heat, where Andy
had thought Biff had knocked him off the track. This added to Biff's problems (new track, new laydown), and he did not perform as well this night as
he had in Sweden. The final was: 1st John Kehoe, 2nd Chris Hesmer, 3rd #7, 4th Jeff Orosz, 5th Patrick Ahlund. In Division Two, Joanne Edwards had
the gate and corner one each race, but Greg Comstock from Wisconsin had the race after that.
