Surprise, surprise, surprise, indeed the amount of people who attended Wednesday nights 6/19/24 race brought a smile. We were a little worried cause this was our first midweek event since Industry switched to an almost exclusive Saturday night format. But our frown was upside down cause you made it so.

It's been a challenge juggling a handful of balls in air as a Saturday promotion requires its own set of marketing skills. Money starts the worry cycle as everything costs more. Advertising (yes we do some) rent, security, ambulance, are just the tip. Other kind of sports, concerts, movies or a day at the beach are all added competition. A real bright spot in this are the Speedway promoters as all work together so race dates rarely conflict. Fact is its gotten real civilized as all understand and share the limited amount of Saturdays and racers available.

But the thing that brought the most joy is you, our loyal customer base. By attending and bringing friends and family with, you have made it clear that the switch to Saturdays was a smart move.

Many including me say promoter Kelly Inman is the main reason for Industry Racing success. Arguably he puts in more hours each day then many do in a week. He like the rest of the official track staff (and volunteers) have the same addiction to this sport we love. I won’t name them all here but will remind they are listed in most every race program you get when entering.

Speaking of race programs do we have the best or what. Laid out by our chief cook and bottle washer Kelly Inman and put together by Gina Horn they are eight full color pages, each a collector’s item suitable for framing and best of all they cost you nothing as their free with each paid entry. Yes scaling back could save money but that’s not in the cards cause that program represents the class act Industry Racing is.

Now most race venues sell food and drink of various taste and price points. At Industry we do one better cause there are several reasonably priced food choices and if you’re a grown up that wants more than a brew we have two full service bars. Not only will they make your favorite mix but one of the bars is located on the ground level in turn two. It has its own tables, stools and chairs so the only thing one has to watch out for is some flying dirt when the racers use that outside line.

Now I’ll admit we are light on souvenirs. Yes of course we sell Industry Racing shirts and decals. And it goes without saying they are outstanding. But from there you have to ask and look to find options.

Our professional photographers are one such option. They shoot the action as well as the racers. Grab one of them after the races and buy a print they have in stock or if you want the utmost in a souvenir say “I want a shot of me and Billy Bob (or whoever your favorite is. They can make it happen and then supply you any size picture or poster you want.

Speaking of riders they are all kid crazy. Not sure if anything exists that melts a heart faster than a young boy or girl tying to get the courage to go up and say hello. A sight for sore eyes the norm is they get a hug, autograph and get to sit an the racers motorcycle. Being good parents their mom and dad also get into the action cause they also cherish that autograph or picture.

So now you have the rub on what make Industry tick. So sorry if I’m preaching to choir cause you know but hey believe it or not there’s them that don’t. Luckily the regulars spread the love and newbie's be seasoned before the last checkered falls.

This Saturday will be the Ugly Hawaii shirt night. Named after “The Voice of Speedway” Bruce Flanders it’s a festive meet with and extra layer of fun. So come and don’t forget to wear the loudest, ugliest, brightest Hawaiian shirt you own. We give a reward for the worst so bring it on.

Naturally we’ll have a full program of 500cc, no brakes, high horsepower Speedway machines along with those Crazy 1000cc New Zealand sidecars.
