On a hot summer night at Auburn Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, it was Bryan Yarrow's turn to shine. You can add his name to the short list of riders who have won both the Division I handicap and scratch main events this year. Yarrow, always in contention for winning in the Division I handicap and scratch programs put it all together for the victories Friday night. It was his first main event wins of the season and he scored victories in both programs. The 28-year old Yarrow been riding since he was 10 years old and is capable of winning any race he enters. "Speedway's a mental game, my confidence was up, if you think you can do you can," said Yarrow of his double wins. Yarrow joins Billy Janniro to be the only two riders this season to score double victories in Division I main events so far this season.

In the handicap main event where he rides off the 60-yard line, Yarrow was able to hold off Bart Bast for the win. Bast finished second and Tommy Hedden was third. In the scratch main event it was Charlie Venegas winner of last weeks scratch main event who challenged Yarrow. Yarrow got out front with a good gate from lane three and held his ground on the inside for the win. Venegas was second and Bast third. Bast still leads the Division I Fast Fridays season points race with 874 points. Tommy Hedden is next with 786 after the June 21 meeting.

It seemed to be a night of firsts and in Division II action it was Nick Dion who took the honors for the first time this season. Dion was undefeated in Division II action Friday night with a win in his heat race and a first place finish in the main event. Chris Popanz was second and Louie Mersaroli was third. Kevin Chapman leads Division II in season points with 341 followed by Michael Achilles with 302. In Division III Kyle Porteous was first, Laurence McNutt was second followed by Greg Lovlien who finished third. It was Porteous' second main event win of the season. Louis Mersaroli leads Division III in season points with 324 thought he is now racing in Division II. Porteous follows closely with 320 points.

Gage Geist won the Youth 250cc division main event and Dylan Wagner won the 150cc main event. Also on the program was a special once a year vintage class program. Harlan Bast, Vance Felicio and Bobby Hedden all rode vintage upright engine speedway bikes from the 1960s and 1970s in the special event. Hedden won the main followed by Felicio who was second.
