AUBURN, CALIFORNIA, AUGUST 24, 2012

Bryan Yarrow broke through a season long winners drought and picked up his first Division I scratch main event win of the 2012 Fast Friday's Motorcycle Speedway season. At Auburn's Gold Country Fairgrounds Friday night Yarrow faced a talent filled final race but put all the pieces together and pulled off an exciting win. Yarrow is never one to count out of the winners circle having made 11 of 15 Division I scratch main events so far this season, but he had been unable to take the checkered flag. "I've trying to focus on my starts, and trying to race smarter," said Yarrow. The 27 year old Citrus Heights resident is a skilled veteran rider racing since 1994 when he started racing in the junior program.

Yarrow was in the inside lane against the fastest riders of the evening on the start line for the final race of the evening. In lane two was Mike Faria fresh off a first place win in the Division I handicap main event, and hungry for double main event wins. Bart Bast was in lane three and Billy Janniro was outside in lane four. As the gate went up Yarrow got a excellent start and got to the inside line and held tight powering through the turns and straight-aways. Janniro on his tail in turn one but was forced to try to take Yarrow on the outside in the deep part of the track. Bast and Faria followed just behind Yarrow and Janniro. But Friday night all of Janniro's riding experience could not get him around Yarrow. Yarrow held the lead for four laps and picked up the win. Janniro was second, Faria was third, and Bast was fourth.

Mike Faria won the Division I handicap main event. Faria missed most of the Fast Friday's season until the last few weeks and is back on his game. The 55 year old Faria is a veteran of 37 years of speedway racing, holds three USA National Speedway Championships, and is a fan favorite at Fast Fridays. In the handicap program Faria put together a great night finishing second in his heat race and first in his semi-final then capped the night with the Division I handicap main event win. Janniro was second and Bast was third.

Jamison Dilkey won the Division II main event, his second Division II main event win of the season since moving up from Division III in week five. Colton Duncan was second and Michael Achilles was third. The Division III main event was won by Nick Dion his second of the season. Dion has been a consistent top three main event finisher in Division III this season. Kevin Smith was second and Lars Katrlik was third. Luke Becker again took top honors in the Youth A main event, David Mersaroli was second and Louie Mersaroli was third. Riding almost a half a track behind the start gate Colton Hicks made up lots of ground to win the Youth B main event. Hicks was handicapped to deep yardage but still took the checkered flag ahead of Jeremiah Barrow who was second and Daniel Casey who was third.

This week was the final week to accumulate season track points and as of last week Bart Bast still led the Division I standings with 1952, followed by Tommy Hedden with 1669 and Billy Janniro with 1637. Division II is led by Derik Denzin with 547 followed closely by Paul Sanburn with 504. Shane Szuh leads Division III with 642 points and Eddie Marcella follows with 512 points just ahead of his brother Kevin Marcella with 499 points.

In an exciting aerial event, the LivFast Freestyle Motorcycle Team returned to Fast Friday's Motorcycle Speedway and took to the air. The daredevil trio of Greg Garrison and LivFast team members Tim O'Brien, and Matt Buyten put on a great show jumping their 250cc dirt bikes 30 feet high in the air and 75 feet from ramp to ramp landing perfect tricks and thrilling Fast Fridays fans.
