Danny Moonbeam Video Tribute

East Coast Speedway TV

Danny "Moonbeam" Fallon

January 8, 1954 - June 1, 2019

RIP my brother and friend Danny "Moonbeam" Fallon. Binghamton, New York lost a special person 6/1/19 at 7:06PM. Complications from a lung transplant several months ago.

Danny was a winner and a fighter all his life, on and off the racetrack. At a young age and very small in stature, he against the odds, successfully joined and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. I met him about 40 years ago as a Speedway racer at Champion Speedway in Owego. Danny at the time also worked and sold Spiedie sandwiches at the rear entrance to the Headquarters bar in Johnson City, a very popular hangout at the time. Ironically, Danny many years later got a job with the Binghamton Police Department as a dispatcher. He often joked that he had (prior to this job), always told the police "where they could go" ... "and now they listen to me."

His immensely popular following and loyal fan base made him a crowd favorite and a rider of true legendary status. His presence and knowledge at the racetrack was respected by all. Danny coached many a new rider to the sport and even coached the veteran riders as well. Danny had a knack for mentor-ship.

I will always cherish our weekly bike night rides, off into the sunset on our Harley-Davidson motorcycles as we traveled westbound towards the Choconut Inn in Friendsville PA for clams and a few ice cold beers.

Danny will be sorely missed by his family and the hundreds of friends he left behind. Godspeed Danny...
